Jake Leg Films

Jake Leg Films was created to embody the immediacy of downtown guerilla filmmaking.   Inspired by the ‘do it yourself’ aspects of early rock-n-roll and punk rock music, JLF strips filmmaking to its bare essentials: a camera, simple sets, hungry actors and compellingly lean stories.  By jettisoning any slight extravagance, JLF celebrates not just the punk aesthetic, but also the passion and protest of filmmaking.  The hands on style lends the films a raw emotional energy, direct and minimal. 

Jake Leg Films internally funds most of its development and packaging costs, allowing it to retain creative control of projects through production.
